Most skunking happens during the last walk of the night before bed time, or first thing in the morning when you're on the way out the door. We usually cannot come out at such a late notice to bathe your dog, so please be prepared with our skunk kit! The best home remedy for skunk odor we know is listed below.

Ingredients:
One quart hydrogen peroxide 3%
½ cup baking soda
2 teaspoons dish liquid (blue Dawn works the best)

Instructions:

IMPORTANT – DO NOT WET YOUR DOG before applying the remedy. Water will set in the oil-based skunk spray, and leave you dog skunky-fresh for months!

Step 1: Combine all of the ingredients
Step 2: Lather your dog (dry) with the remedy being sure to scrub all the way down to the skin. Be very careful around the face and be sure to keep this out of their eyes as it will burn! Let the remedy sit for at least 10 minutes..

**Do not let you dog lick themselves while they soak as this remedy can cause digestive upset.

Step 3: Rinse thoroughly - A good rinse is as important as what soap you use. If you leave a residue, the dog's skin can get irritated and dry.
